Benefits of bayonet connectors
- Resistant towards vibrations and shock
Bayonet locking systems are highly resistant to vibration which prevents connectors from disconnecting and intermittent signal interference. - Secured and reliable lock
Operator recognizes when connector is safely locked due to latching mechanism. - Safety
The design significantly reduces accidental disconnection which can reduce maintenance cost and application failure. - Easy to mate and disconnect
The locking systems is ideal for applications that require fast and easy connectivity without losing time on screwing. - High durability
In order to withstand rough environments in industrial applications, bayonet connectors are designed to be used in harsh conditions where other connectors could fail.
Since bayonet locking technology is part of many product series, it is being used in several applications across different industries which vary from medical applications to outdoor and heavy machinery.

Most innovative bayonet design from binder: NCC technology at a glance
Our most innovative bayonet connector is the NCC (Not Connected Closed) connector. The NCC series 770 is a reliable circular connector in cable and flange versions with bayonet locking corresponded to protection class IP67 when mated. The panel mount version offers IP67 protection even when unmated. 770 series connectors have 8 gold-plated contacts with a rated current of 2 A each. Cable glands are suitable for cables with a diameter of 2.5 to 4 mm, 4 to 6 mm and 6 to 8 mm. Users can expect more than 5000 mating cycles.
The smaller version of the 770 series is the NCC series 670 which can withstand demanding protection requirements. Thanks to a special design feature, the extremely flexible, space-saving subminiature connectors can achieve IP54 protection when unmated and IP67 when mated. This property is beneficial, for example, in test and measurement as well as medical applications that are subject to limited installation space. Other applications include temperature-analyzing instruments, lighting, signage and further equipment in wash-down environments.
All 670-series products are housed in a 16-mm-diameter plastic enclosure. The 5-pin NCC connectors, equipped with gold-plated contacts, are specified for a rated current of 2 A at a rated voltage of 50 V. Their bayonet lock ensures a stable connection. Resistant to vibrations and shock, they operate reliably at -25 °C to +85 °C. The cable outlet measures 3 mm to 5 mm in diameter, and the wire gauge is 24 AWG (0.25 mm2).
Bayonet IP40 Series 710
The 710 series includes IP40 cable connectors and flange connectors available with 2-8 gold-plated contacts and rated between 1A and 4A at 125V. They have plastic housing, a bayonet lock and a solder connection. The connection cross-section is between 0.14 mm² and 0.25 mm² with a limit temperature of -40°C to +85°C.
NCC Series 670
The 670 series includes cable plugs and flange sockets. The flange sockets have an IP54 degree of protection when unplugged and an IP67 degree of protection when plugged in. The connectors are available with 5 gold-plated contacts and are designed for a rated current of 2A at 50V. They have a plastic housing, a bayonet lock and a solder or dip solder connection. The connection cross-section is 0.25 mm² with a limit temperature of -25°C to +85°C.
Bayonet IP40 Series 678
These bayonet cable and flange connectors with IP40 protection are available with 2 to 24 contacts with a rated current of 1 A to 7 A (depending on the number of contacts). The straight and angled cable and flange plugs and receptacles have solder connections. Users can expect more than 500 mating cycles from these 678 series connectors.
NCC Series 770
These reliable circular connectors in cable and flange versions with bayonet locking correspond to protection class IP67 when mated. The flange version offers IP67 protection even when unmated. 770 series connectors have 8 gold-plated contacts with a rated current of 2 A each. Cable glands are suitable for cables with a diameter of 2.5 to 4 mm, 4 to 6 mm and 6 to 8 mm. Users can expect more than 5000 mating cycles.
Bayonet HEC Power
Connectors for harsh environments of the HEC series 696 (Harsh Environment Connectors) are available as square flange and cable versions with integrated protective conduit, which can protect cables up to IP67 and when mated up to IP69K. The connectors are UV-resistant and have VDE and UL approval. The high mechanical load capacity of the products is confirmed by more than 500 mating cycles for the 12-pole version and more than 1000 mating cycles for the 5- and 8-pole versions.
Bayonet IP40 Power
These bayonet connectors comply with protection class IP40 and offer 3 to 12 contacts with a rated current of 5 A and 10 A (depending on the number of contacts). Cable and flange connectors have a solder connection and an operating temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C. Flanged plug/flange socket of the 690 series has the dimensions 31mm x 44mm, a shieldable version is available. More than 500 mating cycles are possible.
NCC Series 770
The medical version of the 770 series is grey-white, similar to RAL 9002. Other colors are also available on request. These extremely reliable DEHP-free circular connectors in cable and flange versions with bayonet locking correspond to protection class IP67 when mated. The flanged version offers IP67 protection even when unmated. 770 series connectors have 8 gold-plated contacts with a rated current of 2 A each. Cable glands are suitable for cables with a diameter of 2.5 - 4 mm, 4 - 6 mm and 6 - 8 mm. Users can expect more than 5000 mating cycles.
